You're Not Here

I do not even know where this came from.
Started singing
Just rolled with it.
Madness.

I came across an empty room today
I don't know why these feelings never stay
But I
I don't know why you're not here.

I fall upon a lonely road sometimes
When I hear the cat and dog, their whines
And I
I don't know why you're not here

Looking at the stars I see that your somewhere
Watching over me
But I don't think I will ever care
Because right next to me
Is where you should be

I came across somebody crying out
They told me that they want to shout
"But I
I don't know why he's not here"

And your mother she can't find the words
To understand why it is the birds
They still sing
Even though you're not here

Looking at the stars I know that somewhere
You're watching over me
But I don't think any of us care
Because here, you see
Is where you should be

I don't know why they took you from us
I still don't know why you're not here
I don't know why no more in you can I trust
I don't know why you're not near

But looking at the stars I know somewhere
You're watching over me
And someday I know that I will care
Because right next to me
Is where no longer
You can be...

The End
