Act I Scene I

Enter Sam and Greg (freshmen)

Sam: Think ye that her maidenhead is still in place?
Greg: Not since she became a maiden to begin.
Sam: Greg, I strike quickly, being moved.
Greg
: But thou art too quickly moved to strike.
Sam: A dog of the house of Montague moves me.
Greg
: Hast thou a biblical knowledge of him.
Sam: I am moved to draw my tool, and thou shouldst as well!
Greg
: I shall not be ravished!
Sam: No! Draw thy blade, for here come two of the house of the Lions.

Enter Adam and Barry (freshmen)

Sam (quietly): I raise my finger at them.
Barry: Do you raise your finger at us, sir?
Sam: I do raise my finger, sir.
Barry: But do you raise your finger at us, sir?
Sam (to Greg)
: Is the law on our side if I say "ay"?
Greg: No, sir.
Sam: No, sir, I do not raise my finger at you sir, but I do raise my finger.
Greg: Do you quarrel sir?
Barry: Quarrel sir? No, sir.
Sam: If you do, sir, I am for you, for I serve a school as good as you.
Barry: No better, Sir.
Greg: Yes, Better.
Adam: You lie!
Sam: Draw if you be men!

Enter Ben (junior)

Ben: Part Fools! You know not what you do!

Enter Tyler (junior)

Tyler: What, art thou drawn among these heartless hinds? Turn thee, Lion, look upon thy death!
Ben: I do but keep the peace.
Tyler: What? Drawn and talk of peace? I hate the word as I hate Montague, and thee. Have at thee, coward!

Enter Superintendent

Super: Rebellious students, enemies to peace,
Profaners of this alum-stained steel,
On pain and torture, from those bloody hands,
Throw your mistempered weapons to the ground!
You of Capulet HS and Montague High
Have thrice disturbed the district, the town:
If ever you affright our streets again,
The rest of your lives you shall  pay.

Exit All

The End
