What Happens to the Little People?

Poets writing about real people, strangers, lives revealed in newspapers

The newspapers are full of it, stories

gossip about the little people

in the tabloids, holding court, gushing

forth the minutiae of life

a fountain.

I should be taking notice

taking care to read

between twisted lines, sneering words

careless reporting from those

who don’t give a damn.

Damn you, Life, for dragging me

back into the mire

making me face that ignorance

of copping-out. I need to be out

and about to take part.

The End
