Medomai runs to Amalthea, taking the knife away from her.
MEDOMAI: What are you doing?
AMALTHEA, turning, tears streaming down her cheeks: Isn't this what you wanted?
MEDOMAI, a confused look crossing his face: I would never wish death unto anyone--
AMALTHEA, interrupting him: No, you wanted misery. You wanted pain. But I'm ending it all and giving you the final satisfaction.
MEDOMAI: What are you talking about?
AMALTHEA: Don't pretend you don't know. She takes the knife back. Let me end it!
MEDOMAI: I won't let--
Daedalus comes outside, interrupting them. Both Medomai and Amalthea turn to look at him.
DAEDALUS, shouting to Medomai: Back away from her! Get behind me!
Medomai, now frightened, does as he's told.
DAEDALUS, whispering to Medomai: She's insane. Don't go anywhere near her.
MEDOMAI: What do we do now? She's going to come after us.
DAEDALUS: We've got to kill her now. Like a lame horse.
Daedalus pulls a knife from his pocket, handing it to Medomai.
