Just a little excerpt from my brain that randomly came to me during a marathon of Dexter, mid sip of a Coke Zero.
The Sleeves of Society
They hide the imperfections we have created. They hide the self loathing and pain from public speculation. They protect us from ourselves. We do not understand it, but they do. Our sleeves hide the scars from our ongoing internal battle. The war we can never win, The war against ourselves. We may be able to wipe away the tears from our eyes. And we may be able to wash away the blood. But we can never wipe away the scars. They're a part of who we are. They are part of what defines us. They are our reality, and they are our tragedy. The tragedy of us. We are the generation of self harm and self hatred. Society has made us this way. They preach that you must be tall, you must be skinny, you must be perfect. Society has made us what we are today. It is their fault. We are the generation of brokenness. and loneliness. Society is responsible for the pain and anguish. We are this way because of you. So thank you. Thank you for ruining us.
