Benefit of the Doubt

[This may be an off topic chapter]

In the beginning, my math teacher seemed very strict. She seemed pretty mean, too. Everyone said that they hated her. Even I said that I didn't care for her.

But I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt. Maybe she wasn't so mean.

I started smiling at her every morning, and laughing a bit whenever she would make a small joke. With that, I grew to like her, and I don't need to pretend to be nice to her.

I wish others would do that, too, though. Why don't they?
