"It's not who you are that holds you back, it's who you think you're not." ~ Author unknown
Many a time has there been a use for this quote in my life. Doubts, fears, and low-self esteem pretty much sum up my life in three words. Yet, I turn to this quote, as if it were my friend.
Looking in the mirror before I was to auditon for a school play, I was scared. This was something I longed to do every since I was little and had watched the 'big' kids perform.
Minutes ticked by, and I was suppose to be driving over to my audition, and have confidence. But I still had doubts whether I should actually go or not. Suddenly, a thought crossed my mind, and I instantly smiled.
"It's not who you are that holds you back. It's who you think you're not." I repeated it over and over to myself, almost like a chant.
This gave me great confidence, I didn't get the part, but that's besides the point. The point is, don't ever let yourself hold you back, and always give yourself the credit you deserve.
