Regrets/Memory

Note: This song is entirely based on a note I found in my room, that was written to me by my ex before we broke up. The chorus is the note, but edited slightly so that it would fit the song. Most of the words are the same. The song is just part of what my mind is currently going through. The title is a working title.

Regrets/Memory

I wrote this song because
I'm fed up of crying over you
I am sick of the memories of
How happy I was
Mixed with the things I put you through

You once told me that you'd never have regrets
But I don't believe you 'cause
I haven't had a day without them yet
And I'm feeling bad because
I'm starting to hate the memory of us

Oh, and I'll come up to meet you, to tell you I'm sorry
You don't know how lovely you are
I had to find you, to tell you I need you
To tell you I set you apart
So tell me your secrets and ask me your questions
Just like you did at the start
Baby, I love you

Last night I dreamt you were
Laying close to me
And I cried when I woke up because
Life was so much better
When I was still asleep

You once told me that you'd never have regrets
But I don't believe you 'cause
I haven't had a day without them yet
And I wish it was easier
Not wanting to remember what we were

Oh, and I'll come up to meet you, to tell you I'm sorry
You don't know how lovely you are
I had to find you, to tell you I need you
To tell you I set you apart
So tell me your secrets and ask me your questions
Just like you did at the start
Baby, I love you

This pain is
So much more than loneliness
You don't understand
Until love drops you hand
And lets you fall
Just lets you fall

Remember that time you sent me this note?

It said
I'll come up to meet you, to tell you I'm sorry
You don't know how lovely you are
I had to find you, to tell you I need you
To tell you I set you apart

You once told me that you'd never have regrets
But I don't believe you 'cause
I haven't had a day without them yet

The End
