Honey, Where Have You Been?

Note: This came to me in a staring-emotionally-out-the-window-car-music moment. It's really cheesy, and quite frankly, awful. Like, literally. If I heard this on the radio, I'd despair for humanity. It explains itself.

Honey, Where Have You Been?

That day on the way to Manchester Airport
Your car broke down along Snake Pass
My mum was yelling at your dad, so I rolled my eyes at you
And you looked at me through your window and laughed

Do you remember the day we met?
There was something different in your smile
You walked over to me and said
"Sweet baby you must be mine"
Because your eyes, your eyes, they sparkle
In a way that I've never seen
In the dark, we've spent so long apart
Honey, where have you been?

It was no later than 3am
I would have rather been asleep
But then your smile, it gave me butterflies
I made a promise to myself that I had to keep

Do you remember the day we met?
There was something different in your smile
You walked over to me and said
"Sweet baby you must be mine"
Because your eyes, your eyes, they sparkle
In a way that I've never seen
In the dark, we've spent so long apart
Honey, where have you been?

Your lips, so soft and warm as you
Whisper close to me
My mind is racing as you kiss me
Chasing my heart
Going so fast I can't breathe

Do you remember the day we met?
There was something different in your smile
You walked over to me and said
"Sweet baby you must be mine"
Because your eyes, your eyes, they sparkle
In a way that I've never seen
In the dark, we've spent so long apart
Honey, where have you been?

The End
