Ficlets Pie

A long, long time ago...
I can still remember
How that website used to make me smile.
And I knew if I had my chance
That I could make those people glance
And, maybe, theyd stick around for a while.

But January made me shiver
With every story Id deliver.
Bad news on horizon;
'Bout it, couldn't be brazen.

I sure remember that I cried
When I read about this swipe of side,
But something touched me deep inside
The day that Ficlets died.

So bye-bye to our sweet ficlets pie.
Keep on writing, and we're fighting,
Just to keep it alive.
But the people sit around, uttering a sigh
Singin, thisll be the day Ficlets dies.
Thisll be the day Ficlets dies.
.....
I met a girl, her name was Blu
And I asked her for some happy news,
But she just smiled and turned away.
I went down to the old website
Where Id fallen in love that summer night,
But they said there was nothing new to say.

And in the streets: the writers screamed,
The prose ones cried, the poets dreamed.
Hardly a word was spoken;
The site seemed to be broken.
And even to the devoted most,
The site's destined to be a ghost,
Caught the last train for the Heav'nly Coast
The day that ficlets died.

We'll be singing...

Bye-bye to our sweet ficlets pie.
Keep on writing, and we're fighting,
Just to keep it alive.
But the people sit around, utt'ring a sigh
Singin, thisll be the day Ficlets dies.
