I think the first time I truly saw how much hurt Idina carried was at Girls' Camp.
Our church does this Girls' Camp. It's pretty self-explanatory - the girls get together for a camp. The theme that year was Purity. Not only was it about sexual purity, but it was about emotional and spiritual purity, too.
One of the counselors gave a talk on emotional purity. She talked about how it's important not to give your heart away to every guy that treats you well. She explained that because teenagers usually (there are exceptions) aren't ready for real love, it's important not to share the deepest part of your hearts with a guy unless you're sure it's the right time. That way, you won't get emotionally involved with every guy that comes your way.
I realize that many people who read this have a different opinion on purity, so please understand that I'm not trying to beat you over the head with a Bible. That has never been my intention. I'm just sharing from my heart.
