The very final part of the Truth in Love session was affirmations. We all told Idina good memories we had of her and the things we loved about her. My list was about a mile long, if you'll pardon the exaggeration. Then, I read Idina a poem I'd written about the eating disorder. Yep, we were basically a bunch of blubbering buffoons by the time it was all over.
At the end, Idina reached across and hugged me. She said the words she'd said right before we'd left her in Arizona.
"I love you, best friend."
I hugged Idina and responded, "I love you, too, best friend."
