Idina met a friend who listened to her troubles and gave her advice. Suddenly, my sister was eating again. Suddenly, she had a vibrance about her that I hadn't seen in years (when I look back, I realize that her eating disorder affected her for a long time even before she stopped eating).
And this friend convinced her that God cared. Idina made a commitment to recover and started trusting God again.
I didn't completely understand what was happening, but I didn't have to. My sister was coming back to me. I finally felt like I knew her again. She laughed and smiled - really smiled - for the first time in ages.
I felt like I could fly. Our family was healing again! What more could I possibly want?
Relapse is fairly common with eating disorders.
