When I first heard about what happened in Colorado, I almost couldn’t believe it. That guy came in there guns blazing like some kind of messed up super villain. I could almost imagine a black clad superhero coming in to the theater to stop him. But Batman didn’t come to stop the Joker this time. Twelve lives lost at the midnight screening of the Dark Knight. Seeing the images on TV – it was awful. I couldn’t stomach how the news anchors kept playing on the words ‘dark night’ to describe the night of the killings. I wanted to scream at them that this was no time for clever jokes. But they wouldn’t have heard me, only looked at me with that fake grim look and continue reporting about the victims and survivors of the attack.
I can’t help but wonder if this guy who called himself the Joker is going to escape from prison. That would really be the icing on the cake.
Saturday night I slept over at River’s house. We stayed up until way past midnight watching anime TV shows and a few movies. I’d brought Doctor Who: The Movie starring Paul McGann for the occasion. She loved it. The anime I liked the best was called Fruits Basket. This girl, Tohru discovers the Sohma family. They turn into different animals of the zodiac when they are embraced. Yuki, the mouse, and Kyo, the cat, are both in love with her. I think Tohru should pick Yuki. Kyo has anger issues! Yuki is so freaking adorable when he transforms into his itty bitty mousey (rat actually, but it looks like a mouse to me!) form.
My Assassin hood is almost done. I’m finishing the details around the edges by hand sewing. It looks uber cool. I just have to figure out what outfit to wear with it so it doesn’t look completely stupid. I might make some kind of scarf thing to go with it so it blends down into whatever shirt I’m going to wear. I am so totally going to take some cosplay picture thingies for DeviantArt.
By the way, is it pronounced cause-play or co-play? River and I were arguing about that Saturday night.
River’s dog was in love with me. She slept with me all night to River’s dismay. It was the cutest thing ever. Bella, her dog, is a mix between a Beagle and a Chihuahua – or something. It’s cute, that’s all that matters, lawl.
Along with Doctor Who, we watched Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist, and the Watchmen. They were both awesome.
Besides her creepy stepdad, I had a great time. Her mom was funny and picked on River – playfully – but she didn’t seem to find the humor in it. Her stepdad also playfully picked on her, calling her Isador instead of her name. River loathed that name for whatever reason and snapped at him angrily. One big crazy dysfunctional family apparently.
Papa said when we build my TARDIS, we won’t be able to actually add the details. I’ll have to paint them on. I’m going to try and recruit my Aunt’s help with it. She’s a whiz with paint and I think she’ll be able to add 3D details to make it look like the TARDIS.
Well, that’s all I can think of for this entry. I apologize for not writing sooner, I got caught up in everything and couldn’t find any time to write.
See you around.
