Chapter Six: CatMature

The cat was always there, just sitting on the red brick wall outside of the garden. She was quite beautiful, smoky grey-silver and striped with black, her eyes two different shades of blue, one deepest, sapphire, almost black-blue, the other pale like turquoise water.

She saw all, just sitting on the wall, licking her silvery fur. Sometimes she left small pawprints of red brick dust where she walked. You got the impression that she knew a lot more than most cats, the way she walked with her head held high, the sun making her whiskers shimmer.

She saw all, she knew all, nothing escaped her notice...
