The bird

A dying bird.

In a clearing. A lone ray of sunlight. On the rock: a dying lark. Faintly gurgling, warbling its mellow final act, its dying wish. It dies. In the sun. How quaint. And the forest draws a sigh, time stops. Everything is black. That was all. Never again. Nevermore.

Knowing is a curse.
