The Binding of Water

Frozen in space
Scattered wildly around fantastical nebulae,
My sharp fragments glimmering in ever-changing hues.

I was here, Brother Fire, before the Earth was conceived
Before my time - lingering, anticipating, watching.

My particles thawed and fused
Into a colossal body of liquid,
My pregnant being swelled and distended in the incandescence
‘Til the fluid ruptured my bloated pouch.
I surged into the ragged pits of the world
Replenishing the dusty voids.

I was all around you, Brother Fire, when you were but a flame
Awaiting your destined birth, for our paths to intertwine.

The End
