How old were you when you started writing? When did you start?
I technically started writing when I was in school, but I never wrote outside of school until I was 15. I read many books when I was younger, but high school really began my writing career.
What was your first story, could we read it?
The first story I wrote on my own was about a dog who was abused by his family, and it was from the dog's point of view. I never saved it, so unfortunately others cannot see it.
What are you working on right now?
I add to my works on an intermittent basis. I don't write unless something really wants to get out. The only work I seem to be adding to consistently is Rite of Spring, which is a collection of poetry and lyrical stories/exercises. It's become a fairly eclectic series.
Where do you get insparation?
More often than not, I get inspiration from things that sadden or depress me. That doesn't mean everything I write is sad, it just happens to be the mood that gets me to write most often. I find inspiration in music, art, movies, dreams, etc. Dreams especially tend to give me inspiration.
When is your favourite time to write?
Probably at night. I love the night; it feels secret, complex, and mysterious. This mood helps me write. I've written at all hours of the day, though, at one point or another.
Do you prefer colaborative works or Solo, do you like both?
I do prefer solo works. I suppose it's because I like to tell my own story without anyone else trying to change it. I haven't written a proper collab in a number of years, but it is something I would definitely consider if the setting was right.
How did you find Protagonize, are you on any other popular writing sites (Booksie, smashwords, wattpad ect.)
I used to be part of a writing community called Ficly. It's a place where writers only have 1024 characters to say what they need to say, then it's on to the next chapter. It allowed for many interesting short works and collabs, and I suppose it's responsible for my preference for poetry. I found Protagonize when the first version of Ficly shut down. I continued to use Ficly as my primary writing source until a falling-out occurred between me and another member. That said, I suppose you could say that I 'escaped' to Protag. I've been writing here happily ever since ^^
Anything else that you would like to share about yourself or your writing?
I don't write as much as some other members on this site, but when I do write, it is sincere and from the heart.
