Today, I took a long walk with a piece of paper.
The piece of paper contained a monologue. The walk was about forty minutes long, probably around two miles, or perhaps a bit less, in the blazing afternoon sun--seemingly in the low nineties, too. By the end, my sandals had rubbed a hole in my toe and the paper was wind-wrinkled and hand-crumpled, but I had my monologue memorized. Auditions for the fall play are tomorrow and Tuesday.
The rest of the day I occupied myself with computer games, writing, and math homework. And my dad pestered me about getting on track with college applications.
