Remembrance 4- Not So Impossible

Recommend

Time is not on our side

Neither is life

Or the universe

Or anything

It’s this constant fight

That sometimes I want to give up

But I know I’m wrong in this

Because to give up would mean

That I let everything around us win

And I don’t accept that

Because I feel too much for you

In these times, it’s all I can do

Remember your face

Your eyes

Your embrace

Because that’s what we share

It’s us

You feel it too

No one can tell us we’re wrong

Keep pushing, keep fighting

Remember me like I remember you

And all of this won’t seem so impossible

The End

Author guidance for This work

delorfinde I'm interested to know what is the first memory that comes to your mind when people ask you to think of one.

For me, the first was in fact my second contribution to this (the third page), but I felt the piece of prose I have put first deserved to go there as a mark of my respect for my Grandad.

It doesn't have to be a bad memory, although both of these are. It can be a poem or a piece of prose; it can be a stream of consciousness. Tell us what you are remembering and everything about it you can recall.

All I ask is that you check your spelling and grammar before you post, that you respect other posters (some of these will be painful for people to share), and that you don't spam-comment on this collaborative work.

If you want to use any of these, then this is allowed under the Creative Commons license (see to the right), but I would ask that you check with a user to see if it's okay before you do so. Like I said, some will be hard for people to share.
