With a look of utter despair, he reached out a trembling hand to remove a stray section of hair that had blown in front of her eyes.
"Don't," she said, turning away. "Just don't." Tears brimmed in her eyes and her voice broke multiple times as she said, "How long have you known?"
"Probably not as long as you think."
"Why didn't you tell me?" she asked, her voice rising in anger. "Why did no one tell me?"
His voice matched hers, now, in passion and volume. "Because this was unprecedented! No one suspected because no one thought you could exist. You are impossible!"
She scoffed. "And that makes me dangerous, does it?" she turned and walked away, wiping the tears from her eyes. He reached out and caught her hand, spinning her around so that she was forced to look him in the eye.
"No," he said, his voice soft and intense. "It makes you beautiful."
