Scene 40 (The Last Scene! Sob!)
PARK – NEAR DUCK POND
Where Ellie and Kate met Author for the first time.
[ELLIE and YOUNG GUY (Shed) enter holding hands. KATE follows after them, a laptop case in her hand.]
ELLIE
Hi, Kate! Have you made that into a PDF yet?
KATE
Yup, all done. Would’ve been easier if Author could have typed it into a computer instead of a typewriter, but I suppose these creative types must have their odd habits…
YOUNG GUY
You finished it then? That script?
KATE
Just about. With the three of us it wasn’t too hard to type it all up, especially since I took a course in typewriting. The hardest part was scanning it all in—but never mind. It’s done now.
ELLIE
You’ve validated? Where’s Author? We should celebrate!
KATE
She’s on her way. She wanted to validate so I’ve left it for her. But if she keeps to her promise she should be here any minute now.
ELLIE
Great! Okay…
[AUTHOR enters, holding a large basket]
AUTHOR
You’ve done it? Oh, Kate, you’re a genius! Now, can we validate?
KATE
Yes we can!
AUTHOR
Great!
[they open the laptop and start typing, with much clicking of the mouse]
KATE
Go on then: press the button.
AUTHOR
All right! [presses button]
ELLIE
Well?
[AUTHOR reads aloud from screen]
AUTHOR
Congratulations, writer, you have completed Script Frenzy 2010 … blah, blah, blah … winner goodies! Certificate!
ELLIE
Well done! I knew you could do it!
AUTHOR
You all helped so much. And as for the actual plot… I couldn’t have done it without you.
YOUNG GUY
We should have a party.
AUTHOR
Definitely! I’ve got food…music…drinks…
KATE
Then what are we waiting for?
[BLACKOUT]

If you are wondering why I'm the only one posting it's because it's hard to tell who wrote what as we all changed each other's scenes etc.
So this is the script. Raina wrote some of it too.
And we finished! :)
Sorry for dodgy formatting. Protagonize hates scripts.

Raina: Ah, I see. So it's going to be one of those, is it?
NB: The scene numbers are screwed up. So far I've noticed we have two Scene 24's and we have no Scene 17. Just ... don't ask.
