Nothing Hurts Like Love: Chapter 4: When Gryffindor met Slytherin.

Thanks to the film, "When Harry Met Sally" for the title of this chapter, as it was originally going to be based on "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon". Anyway, enough of my rambling. Enjoy!  xx

He almost couldn't believe what he was hearing. He wasn't entirely sure whether he should hex her for timewasting and making a fool out of him by pretending to be interested, or actually believe she was.

"What?" he spluttered out, most unlike him. He composed himself.

"If this is some kind of joke, Granger, then you will pay for this" he hissed, and immediately felt bad as her chocolate brown eyes hardened in pain.

"You know, Malfoy, I stooped below my standards to accept a date with you, and you treat me like some kind of...object! You can take your Hogsmeade date and you can stuff in where the sun doesn't shine!"

With that, Hermione turned her back and stomped off in disgust. Malfoy knew he had no one but himself to blame, as he had been rude and arrogant. Which was his usual character, but like Mudblood, it no longer sat right with him. He needed to do something, and fast.

Who did he think he was, the arrogant, self-obsessed, malevolent creature! She counted herself lucky that she hadn't actually fallen for his charms and gone out with him, because that would have only ended in heartbreak for her, and something more to joke about for Slytherin.
