Notes for "Gods in Limbo"

Some personal notes for a story I'm working on called "Gods in Limbo".

  1. Chapter 1 - The Music Man
    • setting - present day
    • introduce Apollo and Artemis
    • tell story from 1st person perspective (Artemis)
    • Apollo uses some of his power to help a homeless vet who plays a saxophone on the sidewalk for spare change
  2. Chapter 2 - The Fall of Olympus
    • setting - ancient Greece
    • describe how Olympian gods fell from power due to decline of "belief"
    • tell how/why Apollo and Artemis finally left Mt. Olympus
  3. Chapter 3 - The Renaissance
    • setting - Italy during the start of the Renaissance
    • Apollo uses his remaining influence to inspire artists/writers of this age to create images and stories based on the Greek "myths"
    • knowledge of the "myths" ensures that the Greek "gods" are never truly forgotten, so they never permanently fade or lose all their powers
  4. Chapter 4 - The Sleeping Prophet
    • setting - United States during the early 20th century
    • Apollo is a doctor for Edgar Cayce, the first true "oracle" he's encountered since the fall of Olympus
    • Cayce informs him of the potential rebirth of the Olympus in the next millennia
  5. Chapter 5 - The Eve of Rebirth
    • setting - present day United States
    • Apollo and Artemis, along with other "allies" are setting plans into motion to prepare the way for a revival of the Olympians as gods in the eyes of mortals
The End
