Kings of CartilageMature

This is the first song I've ever written in it's entirety. I originally intended to write about the male role models I had as a child, until I realised that my "admiration" was more bitter jealousy. Ultimately, the song is about fighting against restrictive binary gender roles and embracing my own identity. Musically, I'll most likely be going the route of grunge/shoegaze, with room for experimentation.

Top cats, no felicity

Live life so explicitly

A hit with all the girls,

Get no shit from any girls

Always the charmer, seldom a liar

Falling wrong left me in the fire

Not the girl they want, not the man you need

Not the girl they want, not the man you need

Little girl, too dumb to see

Always slick, I'm just sick

Didn't know it at the time,

Didn't want what could be mine

Never really changed my mind,

I just learned to grow with time

Not the girl they want, not the man you need

Not the girl they want, not the man you need

Little girl, to wrong, can't let me be

Now I thrive on emulation

I survive on occasion

Tougher now than all those guys

Better now in my own eyes

The End
