Let The Rain Pour DownMature

Let the rain pour down (25/5/2012)

Gazing out the half-open window
Hands resting on the dusty sill
I glance up at the curling clouds
Wondering what they plan
Hoping they'll read my mind

I wish the rain would pour down
Clear out my soul
Get rid of all the cobwebs and dirt
Wash away the hurt
I wish the tear drops
Would litter my face
Cleanse my skin anew
And make it so
I don't have to cry myself to sleep

It seems more nights
My pillows turning damp
What's wrong this time?
Oh
Nothing ever seems simple
Some things are so great in my life
But its all the little things that go wrong
All the little things I can't control
They just keep adding up

I wish the rain would pour down
Clear out my soul
Get rid of all the cobwebs and dirt
Wash away the hurt
I wish the tear drops
Would litter my face
Cleanse my skin anew
And make it so
I don't have to cry myself to sleep

And I hear that distant sound of thunder
And I stare at the sky in wonder
Cause I can only wish and hope
That it can read my deepest thoughts
That the world understands a small part of us
And then the tiniest drop falls onto my skin
And I'm running
Just running
In blind panic
I race to the streets
Ignore my parents
Cause this time its about me

So let the rain pour down
Clear out my soul
Get rid of all the cobwebs and dirt
Wash away the hurt
Let these tear drops
Litter my face
Cleanse my skin anew
And make it so
I don't have to cry myself to sleep
Tonight

Not this time
I'm getting tired
Of restless nights
So let the rain pour down

The End
