although many disagree that religion is important, one cannot deny that religion has its advantages and disadvantages. one of the advantages i will mention is the legal system, one, when they are on the witness stand, swears on the bible, but i disagree with this statement, if i may, i shall quote patsy cline "I hate the sight of that court room. Men make laws, Push Gods laws aside" if one does not have a religion what is the use of testifying, swearing to God that you will tell the truth, and nothing but, said truths.

The afterlife is something everyone asks about. Do you believe in it? I do not. although, people find it comforting to know that there is something else, out there, in the unknown.

A con about religion is, some, not all, but some, religious folk do not accept a person, because of their sexual orientation. many believe this, as they believe homosexualism is a disease, and those who are homosexuals, or bisexuals, should be cured. i disagree with this point as i, am a bisexual, and the amount of people who were my friends before they found out, who have turned on me, because of my sexuality. and yes i know some people reading this will say, "I bet they were Catholics" and i will say to you, what i have said to my family. they were not, they were atheists. people of no religion, those who have stood by me are catholics, and i will proudly state not one of them have ever said anything bad about it.

sorry i have went a little off track, but to conclude. i believe religion is an important factor of peoples lives, (for those who believe) as it keeps people on the straight and narrow. but it's people who protest against rights for gay people, and protesters at a gay man/womans funeral that will cause great pain, and suffering for everyone. sop i ask you do you think religion can cause pain/suffering/fear of being a homosexual?
