Insomnia

I drew a little demon in geometry class, and everyone who saw it smiled at me uneasily, quickly ducking back into the safety of their dog-eared books.

It was just a little demon. Nothing to be wary of.

I left before chemistry. There was too much pain behind my eyes. At home I fell asleep on the floor in my room, with my legs curled under me. When I woke up again there was a new page in my sketchbook; two words, handwritten in immaculate typeface.

Hey, Spider.

I tried to fall asleep again, but it was grinning at me from the inside of my lids.

Slumber, little spider. Slumber on.

The End
