VoicesMature

We all have them - self-talk. An internal monologue. Even if we don't recognize it, it's still there. It's saying things like "I am worthless," or "I did a good job at that," or "There's no hope for this situation."

Verse One
I didn't do well at that today
I'll never learn, now, will I?
I should've kept my mouth shut
Instead of daring to try
Ah! Why did I say that?
Didn't I know how stupid I'd sound?
Maybe there isn't any use
Trying to stay off the ground

Chorus
Someday, I will learn to tame these voices
To know the truth, even through the noises
Someday, I will learn to be brave
I believe someday shall be this day

Verse Two
I sounded ridiculous -
- no, I said what I thought
I should have gone with the crowd -
- no, I'm glad I did not
Slowly, slowly, I will learn
To train my mind
To leave these voices
Somewhere behind

Chorus
Someday, I will learn to tame these voices
To know the truth, even through the noises
Someday, I will learn to be brave
I believe someday shall be this day

Bridge
Oh, they tell me I'm no good at anything I do
But if I ignore them, I'll realize they're not true
These thoughts, these voices will someday be put to rest
No reason to listen if I'm trying my best

Chorus
Someday, I will learn to tame these voices
To know the truth, even through the noises
Someday, I will learn to be brave
I believe someday shall be this day

The End
