The JourneyMature

A song about the journey of one who follows God. An allegory of the struggles one will face if one chooses to walk the path of a believer.

The Journey

Verse One
I have walked for miles and miles
I have collected dust of many places on my soles
I have stumbled along the way
I have witnessed the sorrow of many souls
It takes alot to get the courage
To get the ball to roll
A faithful journeyer will be my lot in life
My self-chosen role

Chorus
The road is long, and the pain is raw
Many others have laid down the law
I've seen others stop and stare
Saying, "What's that wand'rer doing there?"
But this is the path that today I choose
To journey to tell others the Good News
Sometimes I've had to lie down and crawl
But the journey is worth it all

Verse Two
When it all comes down to the pain
I'd say I've earned my way here
I have listened to stories
Not meant for me to hear
I have walked so slowly sometimes
You'd think I was weighed down with lead
But I haven't followed
Paths that others have led

Chorus
The road is long, and the pain is raw
Many others have laid down the law
I've seen others stop and stare
Saying, "What's that wand'rer doing there?"
But this is the path that today I choose
To journey to tell others the Good News
Sometimes I've had to lie down and crawl
But the journey is worth it all

Bridge
Over bridges, over mountains, over hills
Through rivers, through valleys, through tunnels
Guided by the One Who's saved me
Who has appointed me to a life of journeying

 Chorus
The road is long, and the pain is raw
Many others have laid down the law
I've seen others stop and stare
Saying, "What's that wand'rer doing there?"
But this is the path that today I choose
To journey to tell others the Good News
Sometimes I've had to lie down and crawl
But the journey is worth it all

The End
