Shadows 'neath my prose
Disguising my characters
All my childish flaws

I don't do poetry

No soul bearing for me
In vagaries of verse
Can't let you see and won't
That would be death or worse

I don't do poetry

In my mind flaws belong
Kept locked inside, within
I don't do poetry
As poetry does me in
