Ah its a bloody musical !!!

Dorms

(Haydn is sitting on his bed with a monologue, Tony is sitting on his writing his first proper play)

Haydn             How am I supposed to impress them with this? There is hardly anything there! How you getting on Tony?

Tony                This is a lot harder than what I thought it would be.

Haydn             Well what are you writing about?

Tony                Since as it’s my first big script I’m going for a simple idea. This bully is making people’s lives absolute misery, until this new shy kid comes and is the perfect target for the bully. However this kid is a lot tougher than what he looks and teaches him the error of his ways!

Haydn             That’s a really good idea, could make it even more exciting, why not add some music into it?

Tony                Hmmm how would I do that though?

Haydn             Your sister does Musical Theatre and you do Music so I’m sure that you could conjure something up.

Jess                  (Enters)

I’ve got my song and it’s one of my favourites “Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again” from Phantom of the Opera.

                        (Puts the CD in)

Jess                  You were once my one companion

(singing)          You were all that mattered
You were once a friend and father
Then my world was shattered

Wishing you were somehow here again
Wishing you were somehow near
Sometimes it seemed if I just dreamed
Somehow you would be here

Wishing I could here your voice again
Knowing that I never would
Dreaming of you helped me to do
All that you dreamed I could

Passing bells and sculpted angels, cold and monumental
Seem for you the wrong companion, you were warm and gentle

Too many years
Fighting back tears
Why can’t the curse just die!

Wishing you were here again
Knowing we must say goodbye

Try to forgive
Teach me to live
Give me the strength to try!

No more memories
No more silent tears
No more gazing across the wasted years

Help me say goodbye
Help me say goodbye!

Tony                That was amazing Jess, what song shall we sing next?

Haydn             (Almost shyly)

                        “Wandering Child”

Jess                  That’s on here to, I’ll put it on.

                        (They sing)

Tony

Wandering child,
So lost, so helpless
Yearning for my guidance

Jess
Angel or father?
Friend or phantom?
Who is it there, staring?

Tony
Have you forgotten your Angel?

Jess
Angel, oh, speak
What endless longings
Echo in this whisper!

Tony
Too long you've wandered in winter
Far from my fathering gaze...

Jess
Wildly my mind beats against you...

Tony
You resist....

Tony, Haydn/Jess
Yet your/the soul obeys...

Tony, Haydn/Jess
Angel of Music,
You/I denied me/you!
Turning from true beauty!
Angel of Music!
Do not shun me/My protecter!
Come to your/me strange Angel...

Haydn
I am your Angel of Music...
Come to me; Angel of Music....

Jess                  You never told me you could sing Haydn!

Haydn             I never thought I could, You two are amazing though, have you ever been

In the West End like Sam has?

Tony                Oh. We have we just choose not to boast about it.

Haydn             Which play have you been in?

Tony                Oliver! At Theatre Royal, Drury Lane.

Haydn             That’s so cool, do you think I could start doing musical theatre here too?

Tony                Shouldn’t be too late, I’ll have a word with Dad see what he can do

                        (Rings Tom)

Dad, it’s me can you ask Mrs. Bone if Haydn can join the musical theatre course?

Tom                 One step ahead of you, I walked past your room and heard your singing, so I went                        see her myself. She said she will see what she can do for you.

Tony                Ok cheers Dad.

                        (Puts phone down)

He said he’s already spoke to Mrs. Bones and she said she’ll see what she can do.

Haydn                         Let’s hope I can go then, I should get to sleep could be an early start.

Jess                  Me too! Hopefully I will see you tomorrow for musical theatre class.

                        (All retire to their beds)

The End
