From the Pulpit
2 Peter 3:10-11 "But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare. Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives"
I cannot wait for the day of the Lord, I cannot wait for the return of the one who died for me. And what kind of person should I be! When he comes back laptops will be destroyed. Cell phones as well. Even I-pods. Family photos, extra clothing, money. All of it will be destroyed. So, let us not collect and gather good things for ourselves. Instead, let us collect and gather good things for one another! Let us not build up our own kingdoms, for these things will burn away when Christ comes. So let us build up Christ's Kingdom, the Kingdom of Heaven, of God! So that when Jesus Christ comes back on that wonderful day, every knee will bow in reverence, and every tongue will confess in joy, that JESUS CHRIST IS LORD!!!

I was lying there, on the hot, warm pavement. Breathing in the crisp, summer air. Feeling it warm my lungs and then breathing it back out again. The warmth of the concrete below me had faded just minutes ago, but I didn't care. With the warm, hot sun beating down on me, I was warm, and I was content.
Then, suddenly, I was shocked out of my state of relaxation by a resounding trumpet. It sounded as if it came from above, so I opened my eyes, then shut them in he brilliance of what I saw. I saw something that looked like a man, and he was brilliant, shinning as bright as the sun. And my eyes hurt looking at it. So, I rolled to the side, feeling the pavement beneath my arm.
I manage to stand up, and then I shield the bright light with my hand. But I look around, I see a man with brown hair, an a spotted black and white dog next to him. And the man is kneeling and saying "Jesus Christ is Lord!"
Then, I look up again, squinting so as to see. Then, I see a man in the sky, and he was riding some sort of fiery cloud. Then, fear shudders down my spine.
This is Jesus? I quip. Suddenly, an unseen force pushes me down to my knees, and I find myself speaking against my will. "Jesus Christ is Lord!"
And then, a horde of fiery beings come out of the clouds. Though they were too far away for me to tell honestly, I thought they were all wearing battle armour. Then, I see the sky fading away, with a terrible roar, and I look around and see house after house, utterly destroyed. I hear some sort of buzzing noise and look ahead, to find one of those fiery things coming right at me with a sword. My eyes widen, as it cleaves through my flesh, and I lie upon the ground, dead.
Immediately, I find myself in a great place, with mahogahny walls and marble floors. Infront of me is a table. I look behind myself and see the rows of fiery beings, then I realize what this is, it's a courtroom.
I look ahead and see a man seat himself upon the throne, and meanwhile an angel sits at the table to my right, obviously the offense. But, I don't see any defense for me.
"Umm, sir, there must be some mistake."
The man on the throne looks at me with a calm, all-knowing expression. "There is no mistake, you have no advocate because you chose not to have one." The words he speaks are not english, but I understand.
My face contorts into confusion, "What do you mean I chose not to have one?"
"You chose not to believe in Jesus, my son, my gift to humanity. He is the advocate, and without him you must represent yourself."
I look at the opposition, the accuser. "Sir, what's your name?"
He turns to me with an strange expression on his face, "You know me all to well, I'm Satan."
Then, the man on the throne bellows out a great shout, "This has begun!"
Then, the accuser begins, "I would like us all to realize that this man has broken various commandments given by the Law of God. Which is, of course, the teacher for those who become known in Christ, but he has not been known in Christ, therefore he has both scorned his education graciously given by God and has scorned the law of righteousness, also given by God. And as James, the brother of Jesus so plainfully expressed, if one has broken one of the law, one has broken all of the law. So, I find this man guilty."
I yell, "Hey, wait, you can't do this! You're in Hell, deceiving people!"
The man on the throne bellows again, "Do you have an adequate defense?"
I studder, speachless, "I don't know what to say. I've done good things also, sometimes I haven't lied, I gave money to that beggar that one time. I did good things!"
My accuser speaks, "But, you need only be guilty of one sin."
The man on the throne speaks, "Very well, the accuser is correct, you are guilty."
Then, I am led away by two fiery beings, and while I am being led away I see another person stand at the table, with Jesus standing by his side, as his advocate.
The fiery beings lead me to Hell, and they place me in a deserted spot. Then, they flew away. And as their light faded, I could hear mumbles and gurgles that were so horrifying. And as the light dimmed, they came closer. Until there was no light, and all I could feel was them sratching at my flesh, only to have it regrow. Forever and ever, for eternity.
