Fly On The Wall

Fly On The Wall

Fly on the wall what do you see
Pretty angel down on one knee.
Picking up the pieces once again
Scrubbing the carpet to erase the stain.
Do those broken plates resemble her heart?
Will she cry for hours once she starts?
Is her pretty little face all black and blue?
Oh fly on the wall there's only you.

Fly on the wall what do you hear
Sobbing in the bedroom the cries of fear.
Soon he’ll be home bursting through the door
Like the Nazis marching into Warsaw.
Will he verbally abuse her then start with his fists?
Will the neighbours hear or are those walls too thick.
When it's over will he start on the special brew?
Oh fly on the wall there's only you.

Fly on the wall what's the latest news
Has she seen the light which path did she choose.
Did she head for the gate leaving him behind?
Or did he talk her round take the reins of her mind.
Those fake apologies and those crocodile tears
Are soon washed away by some daytime beers.
Did this pretty angel do what she had to do?
Oh fly on the wall there's only you.

Fly on the wall what do you sense
A young lady incapable of self defense
A fantastic young lady but a helpless liar
Pretending all is well to those who enquire
Walked into a door that old tired chestnut
Has the time now come for this her to fess up?
Ain’t it about time the people knew?
Oh fly on the wall there’s only you

The End
