Theme

Composed of various scenes talking about the transition period from the age of enlightenment to the modern era and all that came with it.  They are all fictional stories based on real events that occurred.

Time

Late 1800's to the early 1900's.  Victorian, Edwardian and Modern eras.

Space

A barren stage only decorated by a few black risers which are ambiguous in action.  The backdrop consists of a painting of a grey sky and barren trees.  The land looks desolate and dead.

Death to the Enlightenment is a collective creation play which is not a play that follows a basic storyline. It is a collaboration of scenes that revolve around a specific theme. The theme here being the transition from the enlightenment to the modern era in history. These are fictional stories but are based on real events.
