I'm going to post this verse again before I write the poem. :)
"We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed."
- 2 Corinthians 4:8-9
"Look at her," I hear the devil whisper
"Look how far she's gone and fallen down."
I think he's right; I have gone too far
Is God anywhere to be found?
But there is a battle cry from afar
There is a promise I will hold to
When the devil says I am hopeless
I will not let myself be accused
I am hard pressed on every side
But "crushed" can never be true of me
I am perplexed as to why I'm here
But "despairing" is one thing I'll never be
Persecuted, not abandoned
You keep me from falling through the void
Struck down, but there is still hope
For You will never let me be destroyed.
