Daughter: The new band England/Ireland
Hello everyone!
This will be the first of what will hopefully be many blog entries of the band Daughter. Daughter is an Alternative Rock band from Cavan, Ireland and Rowley Regis, England. It is comprised of Alli Fallon (Vocals, Guitar, various instruments) and Bejn Jonathon Edwards (Lyrics, Design, musical ideas).
Our influences include: Ryan Adams, Queen, Hole/Courtney Love, Manic Street Preachers, Pink Floyd, Mark Lanegan, Alison Moyet, Skid Row, Matt Nathanson, Rory Gallagher, Suede and Skillet.
We sound like nothing else in the music horizon. Seriously, you must take a listen; Alli’s soulful vocals deliver my lyrics with such grace that it would be a crime if we were relegated to obscurity.
Two demos have been completed thus far. These are ‘What Could Have Been’ and ‘I Ain’t Gonna Let You Go’. Many others are still in the works however, such as ‘Heartbreaker’, ‘Winter Fire’ and ‘The Elysian Plains’.
We have already received positive feedback from our group on Facebook, as we slowly develop a fanbase. Perhaps it is because of the lack of decent bands around, thanks to many second rate pop acts and band-wagon jumping ‘rock’ bands. We will NEVER sell out. I promise you that.
So keep an eye out; we’ll keep you posted.
