China Doll

Your shadow crosses my path

Your shape that I know so well

I glance upwards

I meet your gaze.

Your sea green eyes look down at me

Your mouth does not smile

I take a sharp breath

The air cuts me.

You continue to walk

You turn your back on me

I reach out, try to touch you

I know I can never, will never, again.

You tossed me aside, a doll, her eyes dull now

You forgot you’re so called “love” for me

I fell head over heels for you

My black eye, telling my story.

You have vanished from sight

You have returned to her

I move my lips

I whisper my silent thoughts.

The End
