Celesticide
A song I am working on.
You acted like your world had ended...
it was a war unintended in malice.
You have a natural penchant
for being overtly dramatic.
I watched the sun's descension
into the deepest of oceans;
the earths veins are flooded in light.
I wash the sky of sunlight trails.
I run and I hide and if I should fail,
I'll take my time.
You acted like you had ascended...
your power isn't all that we'd imagined.
This tug of tides and lunar tension?
A lie, my sweetest companion.
And so I watched the sun's rotation,
its solar flares in celestial motion;
this earth is drowned in these lunar lights.
I wash the sky of sunlight trails.
I run and I hide and if I should fail,
I'll take my time,
back from you.
Everyone has their part to play
and yes, you played me well.
A caustic bond beneath the sky
has left a scar with a tale to tell.
I'll take my time back from you.
Everyone has their price to pay,
and yes, you paid me in full.
A toxic burn, a time to learn,
dealt a nuclear love so cruel.
