I'm obsessed with zombies.
I'll read about them, I'll write about them but for some strange reason I'll never actually watch them. I've never watched Dawn of the Dead and I don't think I ever will. I've only seen Shaun of the Dead and Zombieland. And clips from The Walking Dead. But I got this book, Dead Island, which was amazing. I read it in two days flat. It's actually an xbox game but Mark Morris made a novel version.
I don't know why I'm obsessed, but whenever I talk about them people tut and roll their eyes. 'For God's sake Katie, there's never going to be a zombie apocalypse, zombies don't exist!' Whilst this may be true, it's always nice to prepare haha. I actually bought the Zombie Survival Guide.
I think it's just the idea of breaking out of a boring mold that you've shaped your life into. To play the part of the hero, to add some excitement into your everyday activities and to feel the adrenaline rushing through your veins.
I know I sound totally creepy right now.
But some guy just told me literally just this second 'lol you're just a girl living in a fantasy world' and I got so mad at him. Being a writer is so much more than just living in a fantasy world. It's having the ability to make anything happen. To create worlds, lives and shape anything to your own imagination. Sure, it's about escaping to another world, but it's a passion.
I don't think people who aren't writers can truly understand.
Anyway, there's my small rant about zombies and writing haha. Hope I didn't bore you too much.
