Interview with NovaMature

Here are some frequently asked questions that now have an answer as one of the book's original author joined me in this recollection.

JC:
Who are you exactly?

Nova:
I'm not going to divulge my birth name for the simple reason that names have powers, they are part of someone's soul and when you know and understand them, you gain power over the name holder.

To give a brief story of my life, I was born in England in 1901 to two members of the golden dawn. Before you ask, my father wasn't Crowley. Since both my parents were a part of the order, I literally grew up in the realm of the occult. While most mages awaken in their late teen or early adulthood, I was only six years old when I reached this state of enlightenment.

Now, you might be wondering why I look barely twenty but the reason is simple; As you change the world, you change yourself. My ageing process was part of that. I've been an archmage since the early 1920's.

JC:
So, who was Tom O' Bedlam exactly?

Nova:
I first met Tom in 1918, at the time, he was a crackpot living on the streets. At least that's what he made people think. He was actually a street mage and fought to keep London clean from vampire and ghoul infestation.

We ended up teaming up for several decades until he took his retirement in the 60's. Things were complicated to say the least between us. I wouldn't say we were romantically involved but sometimes, we all need some companionship. Tom died in 89 hence why he cannot join us in this edition of the tome.

JC:
You said this book would never see the light of day, why?

Nova:
When we wrote this, computers and the internet hadn't even been thought of so type writers were the most high tech things we could muster. While there were printing press, we couldn't get this in mass production without someone noticing it. In the end, we wrote a few copies and stashed them in several private libraries and covens but that was as far as we ever got.

JC:
Is what you wrote true?

Nova:
Most of it yes, we had to consult many experts and most of what we gained were fragments of truth so we worked hard to piece it together. It's important to know that few vampires (For example) are willing to discuss their conditions with other beings as it could lead to their demise.  Another obstacle we faced was that myths are rarely spot on if they are even true at all. After all, villagers reporting werewolves sighting didn't exactly take their time to investigate, they were more concerned in surviving the night.

JC:
Of all that is in this book, which would you consider the most dangerous?

Nova:
In term of raw powers, Mages definitely win this prestigious honor. While magicians are human and not anymore resilient or stronger than your average Joe, they have the power to warp reality with their mind to the point an arch-mage could reach god-like level of powers.

In term of intentions; Outsiders are the kings. The almost funny thing is that they do not plot against us, they don't even really care about us, they hardly even notice our existence. But they are the anti-thesis of our existence, they are anti-matter on the spiritual level. Our destruction isn't their goal, it's more of a side effect of their anti-existence. They are what doesn't exist; the never-should.

JC:
How come they weren't mentioned in the old book?

Nova:
Because nothing was known of them at the time, but as the end of the fifth world comes, the barrier that keeps them away are weakening, preparing for reality to redefine itself into a new era.

JC:
What is the fifth world?

Nova:
It is our current era, the world has known many ages, suns or world. I'll use judeo-christian examples just for simplicity's sake. Only god knows what truly happened.

The first was that of creation, where mankind first appeared, The garden of Eden is an example from myth.
Then the second came, where humanity ascended from animal level of being to dominant of the earth, this would cover from the fall to the great flood that wiped the slate clean. Things began again and the third age was that of rediscovering the world and reclaiming the old glory, and seeking the old ways again.
The fourth age was that of myth, where legends like dragons walked the earth, the exodus and Moses are an example of this period. When it ended, the spirit world and the material world broke apart and so began civilization as we know it.
The sixth world is the return of the old powers, in the bible, it would be analogous to the book of revelations by St. John. It is the beginning of a struggle that if won would mean a new age of enlightenment.

The beginnings of ages aren't always clear nor are they pretty, they are new struggles for greatness and a path to ascension, for ourselves and mankind as a whole.

The End
