A Journey We Take

“This life is yours. Take the power to choose what you want to do and do it well. Take the power to love what you want in life and love it honestly. Take the power to walk in the forest and be a part of nature. Take the power to control your own life. No one else can do it for you. Take the power to make your life happy.” ~  Susan Polis Schutz

Some people are born into a life where they have all that they need. All that could possibly make them feel satisified. Others don't have quite the fortune. Their lack of having what they dream of, the basic things of what help us survive, is what stops them from living.

But I'm not aiming to talk about the gap between the rich and the poor in this entry. Instead, I'm aiming for a whole different aspect...

I see so many people take what they have for granted. I see them not value that which they have, like family, love, education. Their too full of unimportant matters in their head that they can't realise the most important values which they should. I guess all of us come to that realization in our own times. But I hate to see people waste themselves away when all they care about is something that won't matter later on.

I'm a dreamer. I'm ambitious. I like to imagine the possibilities I have for myself in the future and at the same time, I know I can reach any level I want because I have the willingness to do so. A lot of people have claimed this to be foolhardy. But that only means they have something holding themselves back from what can really be.

To know where you're going, you have to know where you're at. Without a beginning, there's no middle or end. Likewise is the journey we take in our life. We have to make our own decisions at some points, and whether it scares or not, we won't know the result until we attempt it.

Holding fear for one's future is fine. There's nothing wrong with it. Every one of us have something that holds us back from taking a shot towards our secret dreams. But when it goes to the extent that these fears will hold us back completely, that's when we know its out of bounds.

Grasp what you have. Know what you want. Savour each second. And don't regret it.

If the things you do in your life is reflected off your heart's desire, when you make a mistake you won't have anyone to blame but yourself. I know that sounds a little wrong from what I'm really trying to say. What I really mean is that following your heart means finding your own way through. It's like marching into a battle field with frankly no weapons.

But that doesn't mean you lose. It only means your brave.

And sometimes, life does fall apart. You can't always find a way out but you can always find a way through.

So never give up. Make your journey and remember what your heart wants.

Fear it. But embrace it. For it is through your fears that you find your answers.

So I won't be scared. Because one day, far from now, I'll take my first step down the long journey. And when I do, I'll take my own heart along.

The End
