Give UpMature

Give Up

I see the way you slowly fade away
Like dying roses left alone to rot
I can't help but wonder if you see
You look like who you swear you're not

So give it up
This fight with yourself
To give up the war
Give it up, give up the desire to give up
I know it's redundant, but I'll say it again
Give up the desire to give up

Your emotions are a blank page
You don't know what you feel today
You might fool everybody around you
But I don't believe you're okay

 So give it up
This fight with yourself
To give up the war
Give it up, give up the desire to give up
I know it's redundant, but I'll say it again
Give up the desire to give up

How I wish I could so simply say
"This is written for someone else, you see"
But as ashamed as I am to admit it
I've written this poem...for me.

So I will give it up
This fight with myself
To give up the war
I give it up, I give up the desire to give up
I know it's redundant, but I'll say it again
I give up the desire to give up

The End
