Minority by Green Day
Most thought provoking lyric: You are your own sight
This song preaches my very honor code. Just be yourself. That can be a very easy or very difficult set of instructions. Sometimes, I need to be someone who isn't me. Sometimes, someone who is not me needs to impress parents or teachers or relatives or friends. And deep down, that is neither who I am not who I want to be. I love to be myself, but sometimes others as well as I stand in the way. Who am I? The real me drinks black tea and talks about books. The real me swears a lot more than she should. She knows nothing of musical theory but can be moved to tears by a single song at the right moment. Others may not like this me. But I do very much. And one day I hope this me can be the only one that exists.
