Bad Dream/Night Mare
Once upon a time
We were just little kids
Didn't have no worries
Didn't have no fears
Except for the monsters and the dark
When the lights went out at night
But there are scarier things out there
Than bad dreams coming to life
After my nightmare I said
But the big bad wolf was stopped
By a house made out of bricks
And the boogey-man don't come
When my night light's shining bright
After hanging up my dream-catcher
Just a few years back
All the bad guys have been stopped by it
Why couldn't it stop them
I remember our good-byes
When you left my side
In trouble at sixteen
You were scared for you life
I went into my room
And cried my eyes out all night
But mom came in the morning to hold me tight
That's when I said
But the big bad wolf was stopped
By a house made out of bricks
And the boogey-man don't come
When my night light's shining bright
After hanging up my dream-catcher
Just a few years back
All the bad guys have been stopped by it
Why couldn't they stop him
Thirteen years later I look in to the eyes
Of my youngest baby girl and
They're shining like lights
With the tears of a bad dream that
I know so well
She climbs into my lap and says
But the big bad wolf was stopped
By a house made out of bricks
And the boogey-man don't come
When my night light's shining bright
After hanging up my dream-catcher
Just a few years back
All the bad guys have been stopped by it
Why couldn't it stop them
Momma, please tell me why...
Why couldn't it stop them.....
