You Shouldn't Let Poets Lie To You

A poem about poets and their lies.

You shouldn't let poets lie to you
You shouldn't let poets lie
Writing about the importance of simple things
That aren't worth a dime
You shouldn't write lies, Great Poet
You shouldn't write lies
Love doesn't feel like love
I never stopped to watch birds fly
The rain on my window
Doesn't sound like bitter-batters
And the sight of a bun on the street
Did not send my soul in tatters
It seems you have lied , my lost love
It seem you have lied
Poetry, in its beauty
Is just a dream to the average eye
Just a dream for the average guy

The End
