Yes.
If I were to say yes, that alone would make the kids in my class laugh. I will never be taken seriously.
So I say, "No."
The kids stop listening after that.
Is 'yes' the wrong answer? No. Yes is the right answer. I know these things.
Those kids, though. Aggravating little brats. I can't stand it. This is an advanced class. Yes is the correct answer.
Oh, and I am a very outspoken individual.. in other classes. In classes that do not include Pete.
Yes is the correct answer. I could have said "yeah" or "yep," or even the very rarely-used "yeparoo". I could not have said "si." I don't think things through very much anymore; I hardly care enough.
Sure, I care too much about what they think.
Sure, a lot of people think I'm an idiot for saying no.
Sure, people are always going to laugh.
It's always going to be that way. Lisps just must be extremely funny.
Just know, all of you people out there who laugh, that it's not something everyone can control.
Speech therapy. Three years.
Did it help?
Not at all.
That's what irritates me. If I'm laughing with them, it's funny. If I'm not, they have to back off.
Pete doesn't know when to back off.
