Writing Challenge: Short Story a Week

Recommend

First of all, I don't mind if someone joins this project after July 12. This is just a set date so that there aren't only two or three people writing at one time.

Second, after you write your submission, don't go back to edit it. There are two purposes for this little exercise. One is to get ideas out of your head and on paper, or in this case, on here. And to get your creative juices flowing in times of writer's block. Second, it's to release yourself from the work you write.

A little anecdote:

In a creative writing class, we were told to write a short story a night (yes! each night). We were told to put it in an envelope, seal it, and turn it in without being able to edit it. It made me go crazy- quite literally. I learned to just let go of what I write and not focus on the editor inside.

Well, that's about it. Come back July 12 ready to write! :)

Note: Please no "mature" content. Thank you.

Author guidance for This story

anonymouskitten 1.) NO MATURE CONTENT. I didn't check that little box when I made the project. :P

2.) No less than 500 words, no more than 7,000.

3.) It can be about anything. You don't have to continue off your previous post or another person's.

4.) Make sure whatever is posted was written THAT week and not previously written.

5.) Please don't go back and edit your work. If you really have an issue about it, I left the option open.

6.) Have fun. :)

Side note: It doesn't necessarily have to be a short story. Poems, journal entries, even longer works are most certainly welcome. :)
