With hate we fight. With love we die.mature

The smell of coffee filled my nose, it made me gag; coffee shops always smelled strong but for most people it was tolerable. But for someone with times twenty senses it was quite a bother. But I got used to it as I spent most of my days there. Although I avoided Wednesdays as there was a waitress who had extreme anger towards my race.

My name is Saskia. I'm 15. And I'm a vampire. My best friend is also a full blooded vampire. My parents have the classic desk job thing going on and there rocking it pretty hard. Though they are not vampires. My birth is pretty confusing, so I will explain the best I can. While I was just an embryo, my mother had sex with a vampire, (whore) and doing so, it changed my life for the best. Nobody is quite sure how it happened, but I became a full vampire. As if my family life wouldn't be tense enough bring an affair into it, but now my parents are constantly afraid of my temporal emotions as a vampire.

(Let me sort out vampire facts for myths; We are not immortal, I mean come on! if I was 300 do you think I would still be at school? Two, we do not all have crazy ass powers. I mean, what are you six? We do not have any reaction to the sun. And last, we do not sparkle! If you were hoping for some twilight like bull crap. Please...SHOO!!)

Anyway, back to my best friend; her name is Natasha, or Nat, and she is your average, party-hard teenager with a twist. Her father was recently murdered which was concluded to be an assassination, now left with one parent, a ^%&$$ of a mother who spends her time sleeping and drinking around, which leaves me to say one thing. Nat's life is a *@@$*.

I'd better fill you in on all the gossip; a lot has happened recently. It’s been years since "mythological creatures" came out of hiding as such. Most people accept this and it’s been a part of daily life. Unfortunately though some stupid people. Some ignorant people. Some dangerous people. See these many new races as a threat and want to exterminate them from "their" world. Our headmaster for example, though he's not extreme, he still holds resent towards the supernatural which makes daily school like crap.

As I entered the coffee shop I browsed the tables, in search for familiar faces. I saw a large array of people; from humans to elves and witches to simple pixies. I immediately saw Nat sitting stubbornly in the middle of the room staring at her cup which I guessed was none alcoholic.

"You know if you stare at it hard enough, it'll turn into vodka." I said, winking at her.

She shrugged and just nodded as a greeting.

A waitress dressed in a short skirt approached me, she noticed Nat's cup containing the blue liquid. Then looked at me and barely blinked.

"Coffee" I said, after a long, tense moment. I looked over at Nat, who had, yet again, barely noticed. The waitress glanced down at the papers on the table before giving me a warning glance and retreating behind the counter.

"I thought she only did shift on Wednesday!" I said shiftly.

"Who cares," replied Nat "plus it means we can piss her off! Besides, I have a hangover and this whole room is in danger from my temper." She said, awarding me with a rare grins.

I laughed. Sat down and pulled the paper towards me, I read the bold headline. "Vampire Bloodlust Killings Increased, Are We Safe?" I sighed and threw it on the table and took a quick glance at Nat. She'd already seen it.

"Hi beautiful, what’s your name?" A smooth voice suddenly split throughout thought process. I looked up slowly and reluctantly. By the time I looked up, Nat was already in full throttle flirt mode.

She wiggled her eyes suggestively at him. He smiled back and a little bit of conversation was exchanged. Then he noticed what Nat was drinking. Substitute Blood (comes in four different flavours! Woo?), the latest fake blood scientists have produced.

The boy, named Mike, drained of his entire colour. He froze. He took a worried glance at my wrist and calmed down as he saw the band. His eyes daringly moved to Nat's wrist. His worried expression bounced back. His smooth voice turned cracked.

"Well, then, uhm. I have to go get some more- uhm, cookies." shaking, he stepped backwards and ran back to his small group of friends, I watched as their faces dropped as he explained. I turned to look at Nat. She grinned at me and shook her red hair.

"You ever get the feeling you're being watched?" I said

"No, I never get the feeling I'm being watched!" she shouted purposely in their direction. They turned quickly away. Nat's golden laughter filled the coffee room. I sank into the chair, hoping the cushions would eat me alive. Just for the record; it didn't.

Nat was a bright faced girl, with smooth pale skin and piercing dark eyes. She was stunning. Oh and she was ginger. She might as well be gift wrapped for bullies. But they were ^^!% scared of her, so maybe not.

As for me, short black layered hair that fell just below my ears. I had soft dark blue eyes and pale skin. I was slender, 5 ft. 4'.

"You need to be more careful you know." I said to Nat

“What do you mean." Nat said shortly after.

"You know what I mean, un-banded vampires are getting a lot of stick. If you’re walking about. Drunk. On your own. Someone could quite easily jump you."

"Oh I don't care, if I get in any trouble I can just use my dad’s necklace" She said tenderly stroking it.

"Why don't you just go get a band? You could easily pass the test!"

"It's sick! I don't need the government to tell me if I'm safe to be around other people! They think they can control everything! ...#$%& that."
