From the world of Summer Solstice
The sun beat down on the country, even though it was nearly midwinter. There should have been some sign of the approaching storm, but in fact the weather had been burning hot all summer and hadn't changed with the seasons. No one knew quite what was going on. That is, no human did.
A girl with short, flaming red hair stood on the peak of a mountain, looking at the land around. She was at least half a mile away from anywhere but she could see the landscape in perfect detail, down to the last blade of dry brown grass.
Another girl joined her, greeting her so quietly that she should have been unnoticed, but in fact was perfectly coherent.
That is the nature of those who care for the day, as Trick and Sola do.
